White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday that the Biden administration is "glad to see this bill [on potential TikTok ban] move forward."
"We will look to the Senate to take swift action. This bill is important and we welcome the step in ongoing efforts to address the threat posed by certain technology services operating in the United States that put at risk American citizens' personal information and broader national security," she underlined while gaggling on board Air Force One.
The press secretary stressed, however, that the bill will not be putting a ban on apps like TikTok, and would only ensure that the ownership is not "in the hands of those who can exploit them or do us harm."
