White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt refuted claims that the leaked Signal chat between senior Trump security officials contained war plans.

"We have said all along that no classified material was sent on this messaging threat. There were no locations, no sources or methods revealed. And there were certainly no war plans discussed. The Atlantic has even admitted this themselves," Leavitt added. She also mentioned that Elon Musk's team will be leading the investigation into the Signal leak alongside the National Security Council and the White House Counsel's Office.

On Monday, The Atlantic disclosed that White House national security adviser Mike Waltz had mistakenly added the publication's editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a Signal group titled "Houthi PC small group" on March 11, shortly before the US launched airstrikes against the Iran-supported, Yemen-based fighters.
