World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Director Dr. Mike Ryan (pictured) stated on Monday that in some countries the organization has managed to restrain transmission of coronavirus due to stringent public health measures. "Therefore the opposite may be true, if we take the pressure off, the virus will bounce back and be transmitted again."
He added that it would be expected "if no signal is found of any problems then we would continue to randomize and use the drug."
"The world is right in the middle of the first wave of this pandemic. We may get a second peak in this wave," he concluded.
