Wall Street closes higher led by tech sector

Major stock exchanges in the United States traded higher at the close on Monday, with the tech sector leading the gains, as artificial intelligence came back into focus, putting tariff worries at bay for the time being. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai is set to advocate for AI and tell the audience at the AI summit in Paris that the biggest risk when it comes to this technology is "missing out" on it.

The Dow Jones gained 0.38% or 167 points at the closing bell, with McDonald's up 4.80%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 surged 1.24%, as Palantir jumped 5.23%. The S&P 500 finished the session trading 0.67% higher, with Supermicro skyrocketing 17.64%.

The euro traded 0.20% below the dollar at 3:59 pm ET, changing hands for 1.03072.
