Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi remarked Beijing and the European Union would likely and "hopefully" finalize their investment agreement "soon."

"It has once again been proved that China–EU cooperation is far greater than the competition, and the areas of consensus are far greater than differences," Wang said. "China and Europe are partners in mutually beneficial cooperation, and the relationship between the two sides is full of vitality."

China recently stated the talks between Beijing and Brussels were in their final stage, with both sides hoping to conclude them by the end of the year.
