Witkoff describes Iran negotiations as 'positive'

United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff described on Saturday the first meeting between his country and Iran in their attempt to reach a solution to the issue of the latter's nuclear program as "constructive" and "positive."

In a brief statement to NBC News, Witkoff confirmed that the next summit will likely be held on Saturday, April 19. He is leaving Oman for the US today.

Previously, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated the discussion was "constructive" and held in a peaceful and "respectful" atmosphere without any "sharp words used."
