World Cup 2018 opening ceremony begins in Moscow

World Cup 2018 opening ceremony began in Russia at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday. The ceremony is set to last for half an hour before the first match between Russia and Saudi Arabia begins.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud are expected to be in attendance.

The tournament that is set to last for three months has gathered 1.5 million people to Russia while over three billion fans are expected to watch the games on television around the globe. The World Cup will feature 32 teams that will play across 12 stadiums all over Russia in 11 different cities. There are eight groups with four teams in each group. The final game will be played on July 15.
