In a phone call on Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) both said that their countries should strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, technology, transportation, infrastructure and energy.
Both countries see further development of the bilateral relations as a priority and both leaders expressed support for the other side's sovereignty, independence and "the right to choose their own political and human rights path," Chinese state media reported.
The crown prince also said Riyadh is willing to sign an agreement to coordinate Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 project and China's Belt and Road Initiative.
