Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday highlighted the importance of BRICS nations further strengthening their partnership in terms of digital economy, trade, politics, security, supply chains, and green technology.
"We should deepen business and financial cooperation to boost economic growth," the Chinese president said in his address at the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg. "The world economic recovery remains shaky, with less than 3% growth for the entire year," Xi underlined.
The Chinese head of state also touched upon artificial intelligence, calling it "new frontier" for development, but also cautioned of its underlying risks. The bloc will launch an AI study group which will focus on further expanding cooperation on artifical intelligence and "step up" information exchange between the member states, Xi said.
