Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that Ukraine is preparing another "provocation" employing Western-made toxic substances to accuse Russia of using chemical weapons.
Speaking at a press briefing, Zakharova noted that there are signs that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is organizing this "provocation" in cooperation with Ukrainian company Realab, which "specializes in the import of chemical reagents and precursors." She added that in October and November 2023, this firm bought "a so-called small batch of triethanolamine and nitrogen-containing sodium compound produced by Honeywell Research Chemicals, an American company" in Germany.
Additionally, the official said that such chemicals "can be used by the SBU to produce a chemical warfare agent for the purpose of conducting a limited provocative action on territory controlled by the Kiev regime in the operating zone of our troops."
