Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to be stopped to reverse the damage the war has caused to the Russian citizens, explaining that the country will be left without a "normal economy, decent life, and without regard for any human values."
Speaking in his evening address, Zelensky stressed that Moscow will set itself to a "catastrophe" as the results of the referendums in the four Russian-occupied regions will not bring the effects Kremlin expects, as Putin seeks to sign accession of new territories on September 30.
On Friday, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council will convene a meeting to decide on retaliatory steps against Moscow, assuring that Kiev will stay on the path to victory. Earlier, the Ukrainian president urged Russian "indigenous people" to defend their freedom and avoid dying in the "vile and shameful war."
