Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday that "all regional military commissars" have been sacked following the conclusion of an inspection of military registration and enlistment offices.
"We are dismissing all regional military commissars. This system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery during war is high treason," Zelensky said in a Telegram post.
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) opened 112 criminal proceedings against regional military commissars and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) said it was monitoring the lifestyles of 135 heads of military enlistment offices amid corruption allegations.
