Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin is already a compromise but necessary if it brings peace. In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to end the "hot phase" of the war through diplomacy.
"I will not be kind to him. I consider him an enemy," he said, adding that Ukraine will not recognize occupied territories as Russian land.
Zelensky also admitted that Kyiv cannot reclaim all its lost territories, citing the high human cost and insufficient Western support. He described the battlefield situation as "very difficult" and stressed the need for a realistic approach.
