United States President Joe Biden had a phone call with his campaign donors and vowed to them he will defeat his predecessor and the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the 2024 election on November 5, Politico reported on Monday.

"We need to move forward. Look, we have roughly 40 days til the convention, 120 days til the election. We can't waste any more time being distracted," Biden said in the recording Politico obtained. Commenting further on beating Trump, he insisted that he is "the best person to be able to do that." "So, we're done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye," Biden stressed.

Earlier in the day, Biden published a letter to the Democratic members of Congress in which he reaffirmed his determination to remain the party's nominee in the election and then reiterated the same in a subsequent interview.
