A photographer for Agence France Presse (AFP) was arrested in Turkey on Tuesday after a protest rally in support of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

The detained reporter's lawyer said an Istanbul court ordered his arrest, according to AFP.

Yesterday, Turkish authorities detained nine journalists amid mass protests against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and in support of Imamoglu, who was arrested on corruption charges last week.
