United States President Joe Biden stated on Thursday that he intends to campaign for paid leave to be enabled for all employees, even though it failed to enter the current bill for rail workers.
"I am going to continue to fight for paid leave for not only rail workers but for all American workers," Biden stressed. While acknowledging that the bill contains "good things" like a salary increase, the president noted that the US remains one of the few major countries in the world without the scheme.
The US House of Representatives approved the bill that would avert the rail strikes yesterday, and the Senate is currently voting, with Biden saying he expects the legislative act to be passed before the weekend.
