United States President Joe Biden told reporters in Delaware that he remains "optimistic" when it comes to negotiations on lifting the country's debt ceiling.
He expressed his belief that both sides have a desire to reach a deal. "I think we'll be able to do it," Biden said, adding that he expects the meeting to be held on Tuesday.
Biden further shared that he still has plans to make a trip to Japan for the Group of Seven (G7) summit. The head of state is scheduled to leave on Wednesday.
