United States President Joe Biden slammed on Saturday Russia's decision to suspend the Black Sea Grain Initiative that secured the export of agricultural products in the midst of the war in Ukraine. He stated the move is "purely outrageous," adding that there is "no reason" for Russia to pull out of the deal.
Moscow claimed it can no longer guarantee the safety of cargo ships sailing through the humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea, alleging Ukraine engaged in "massive air and sea strikes" against Russian ships and infrastructure in Sevastopol. However, it insisted it is willing to replace all Ukrainian grain exports as its export potential this season is estimated at more than 50 million tons, according to the Russian Federation Council.
