British tycoon Jim Ratcliffe (pictured right) successfully sealed a deal to acquire a 25% minority stake in Manchester United, valuing the football club at approximately $6.3 billion, including debts.
Ratcliffe, also the chairman of INEOS, invested about £1.25 billion and now holds control over the club's football operations. Additionally, he pledged a substantial $300 million fund for Old Trafford's infrastructure development as part of the agreement.
As a key decision-maker, Ratcliffe will now play a pivotal role in determining whether to retain faith in Manchester United's manager, Erik ten Hag following a challenging first half of the season.
