The United States Department of States shared on Thursday the readout of the meeting between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas.
The two talked about "ongoing efforts to accelerate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, including through maximizing humanitarian pauses," according to the readout. Blinken denounced "extremist violence" being carried out against Palestinians in the West Bank, adding that he will "insist on full accountability for those responsible."
The two sides also discussed the need for measures that would enhance the security of Palestinian civilians residing in the West Bank. "The United States remains committed to advancing tangible steps for a Palestinian state," Blinken assured Abbas.
