Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee member Megan Greene emphasized the necessity of implementing more restrictive monetary policies on Thursday.
In her latest speech, Green discussed the complicated resilience of low unemployment rates alongside stagnant economic growth and persistent wage inflation, suggesting that these factors complicate the inflation outlook.
"This would mean that monetary policy would need to be more restrictive for a longer period of time to impact labor market slack and wages and ensure that overall inflation converges to target," she said.
