Canada will send back to Germany the repaired Russian turbines required for maintenance of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, Canada's Natural Resources Minister announced on Saturday.

According to the Canadian government, the move will support "Europe's ability to access reliable and affordable energy as they continue to transition away from Russian oil and gas."

Earlier, the Kremlin noted that Russia is ready to increase its gas supplies to Europe if Canada returns its Nord Stream turbine, which is currently under repair in that country.
