French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Beijing between April 5 and 7, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday.
"At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a state visit to China from April 5 to 7," the ministry's spokesperson Hua Chunying wrote in a brief statement.
Macron's visit to China will come shortly after Xi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Meanwhile, the French head of state asked European Commission leader Ursula von der Leyen to join him on the trip.
