United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet (pictured) denied on Wednesday, at a press conference in Lima, that she had received a letter from Chinese officials, who allegedly requested for the report not to be published.

"Just as there are letters from [some] countries that ask me to publish it, there are letters from [other] countries that ask me not to publish it, that is something that is normal," stated Bachelet, underlining once more that the Chinese authorities did not send the reported letter.

Previously, Chinese officials blamed the United States for using the issues in the Xinjiang area as an excuse to "contain" China.
