Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Israel to come out of its "state of madness" and to halt the attacks on the Gaza Strip.
"The Israeli bombardments on Gaza, which intensified last night, have again targeted women, children, and innocent civilians, deepening the humanitarian crisis," the Turkish president said on Saturday. Erdogan invited people to join the mass rally at Istanbul Ataturk Airport to express support for the Palestinian people later today.
The Israeli army revealed earlier this morning that it hit 150 "underground targets" in the Palestinian enclave following the night of increased bombardments of the Gaza Strip, while all communication and internet services have been lost. BBC correspondent Rushdi Abualouf revealed that last night's bombardment of Gaza was "on a scale we've never seen before," stressing that ambulances lost communication signals, so "they were just driving in the direction of explosions."
