The Elysee Palace announced on Monday the resignation of French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne through a statement.

"Ms. Elisabeth BORNE today submitted the resignation of the Government to the President of the Republic, who accepted it. She ensures, with the members of the Government, the handling of current affairs until the appointment of the new Government," the document reads.

"Madam Prime Minister, dear Elisabeth Borne, your work in the service of our Nation has been exemplary every day. You have implemented our project with the courage, commitment and determination of stateswomen. From the bottom of my heart, thank you," Macron wrote on X.
