The United States Federal Trade Commission said that it has withdrawn its case seeking to block the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
The FTC noted that counsel for the two companies filed a joint motion for the withdrawal of the proceedings and added its Complaint Counsel "has not registered any objection" to the motion and, therefore, ordered that the case be "withdrawn from adjudication, and that all proceedings before the Administrative Law Judge be and they hereby are stayed."
The move comes after the FTC lost its appeal against a California judge's decision to dismiss its request for an injunction to prevent the merger.
