GameStop Corp. had its stock trading halted on Monday as the value of the company's shares jumped by 64% shortly after the market opening. The company observed a surge of 90% during the premarket session after the so-called Keith Gill, better known on X and YouTube as Roaring Kitty, posted a screenshot reportedly showing he owns some five million shares at GameStop.
The video game retailer's trading resumed shortly afterward. At 9:49 am ET, its stock rose by 42.26% to sell for $32.92.
