Judge Neil Gorsuch was sworn in as a justice on the United States Supreme Court on Monday at the White House.

Before the swearing-in of the 113th  Supreme Court justice, US President Donald Trump praised Gorsuch’s accomplishments, saying he believes the former judge of the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit will “go down in the history of the United States Supreme Court as a truly great justice.” President Trump went on to state that one of the most important duties of a president is to “appoint people to the Supreme Court,” and emphasized he has done so in the first 100 days of his presidency.

After paying tribute to the late Justice Antonin Scalia, Trump continued to commend Gorsuch as a “devoted servant of the law” and the US constitution, a man of “unquestioned integrity” and “unmatched qualifications.” “Our country is counting on you to be wise, impartial and fair,” Trump concluded.

Upon being sworn-in, the newly appointed justice thanked his family and those who supported him during his legal career.
