An extradition hearing for Huawei Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou will begin on January 20 and the case is expected to be concluded by October, Canadian media reported.
According to the reports, British Columbia's Supreme Court accepted Meng's defense team plan of court dates. Defense attorney David Martin said that a quick hearing would be in the best interest of the public. "We will complete a complicated case within less than a two-year period, which in our respectful submission, would be a record for the conduct of proceedings of this complexity," Martin told the court.
Meng was arrested in December in Vancouver at the request of the United States which is seeking her extradition over Huawei's ties with Iran. Both Meng and Huawei dismissed the accusations.
