Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Istvan Nagy announced on Tuesday, after talks with his Romanian counterpart Florin Barbu in Bucharest, that the two countries will extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine until the end of the year, no matter what the European Commission decides on this issue, adding that "farmers' interests come first."
Nagy also has scheduled talks with his counterparts in Bulgaria and Slovakia. The ban on grain imports from Ukraine expires on September 15. The Polish government has previously said that in any case it will not open its borders for Ukrainian grain on September 15 and will keep permission only for its transit through its territory.
