United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman (pictured) stated on Friday, during a discussion organized by The Washington Post, that negotiations on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran have reached a stalemate.
"Negotiations stalled in the sense that during the last round of dialogue, Iran presented us with a fairly tough response, one that is unacceptable to us," Sherman noted.
She underlined that US President Joe Biden continues to search for opportunities to get the deal back on track, adding, however, that despite this, Washington is "preparing for any developments, whether the deal can be restored or not."
