Iran's reformist president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian pledged unity hours after being declared election winner on Saturday. Addressing the nation, he emphasized the importance of "cooperation, empathy and trust" to navigate the challenges ahead.
"The difficult path ahead will not be smooth except with your companionship," Pezeshkian said, urging Iranians to stand by him.
Pezeshkian also expressed deep gratitude to his campaign team, acknowledging their dedication and adherence to "principles and ethics" despite limited resources, which he said infused "hope and confidence in the future" of Iran.
