Spokesman Shimon Friedman of the Israeli Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) told BBC on Thursday that a first investigation report on the workers' death of the NGO World Central Kitchen is expected "in the next few days."

Regarding other governments' participation in the search, Friedman said that his country "wants this investigation to be as thorough as possible in order for us to learn whatever needs to be learned so that we can prevent these things from happening again in the future." "And as we’re learning things, we’re trying to implement them already," he noted.

The spokesman said that an "independent professional body" and not COGAT is leading the investigation and that they are aiming for "full transparency" to clarify exactly why the foreign workers came under attack while being part of a mission to deliver humanitarian aid in Gaza.
