The Russian-controlled Kherson region will be moving to the ruble payment zone starting May 1, the regional administration deputy chairman Kirill Stremousov told RIA News on Thursday.
"From May 1, we are moving into the ruble zone. Then we will completely switch to settlements in rubles," Stremousov underlined, also noting that there will be a transition period of four months during which both the ruble and the Ukrainian hryvnia will be in circulation.
On Saturday last week, the Russian ministry of defense announced that the country's troops discovered and eliminated a Ukrainian fortified school building in one of the Kherson region settlements, capturing stocks of weapons and ammunition.
