Macron: Israel's Gaza strikes 'dramatic step backward'

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday during a joint press conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II that Israel resuming attacks in the Gaza Strip is a "dramatic step backward."

"There is no military solution in Gaza," Macron underscored, insisting that the peace negotiations need to continue and a diplomatic solution needs to be found.

"We are ready to contribute to the success of the Arab plan for Gaza," he commented.
