French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have commenced a state visit to China, which marks Macron's first trip to the country in over three years, Russian state media reported, citing sources at the Elysee Palace.

The leaders will primarily focus on discussing bilateral economic relations between France and China, as well as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to TASS News Agency.

The visit, which is expected to last until April 7, is likely to address a wide range of topics related to global trade and politics.
