United States President Donald Trump said Donald McGahn (pictured) "cannot be forced to give" a testimony before the House Committee on the Judiciary. The White House said its former counsel can disregard the subpoena received from the panel according to a legal opinion by the Department of Justice.

McGahn can invoke immunity, according to the document. Two weeks ago, the White House instructed McGahn to withhold documents related to the probe led by Robert Mueller probe from Congress. The special counsel was appointed to investigate the alleged ties of Trump's election campaign in 2016 with the Kremlin.
