Most Americans don't want Biden, Trump to run again

Nearly 70% of Republican voters say they support Donald Trump despite his recent arrest and other criminal investigations, according to a poll published by NBC News on Sunday conducted over the previous weekend.

This makes Trump the most likely runner for the 2024 presidential elections, with his double-digit lead over likely rival Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump leads the polls with 46%, while DeSantis currently has 31%. However, most Americans don't want Trump nor President Joe Biden to run again for office, citing age as a major reason.

"At this stage, 2024 is shaping up to be a sequel of the 2020 election. Sequels are frequent hits at the box office, but apparently not at the ballot box ... It's clear that people do not want a Biden-Trump rematch," pollsters Jeff Horwitt and Bill McInturff argued. 41% of the polled would vote for Biden, while 47% said they would back a Republican nominee.
