North Korea announced Sunday it will stop sending trash-filled balloons to South Korea, but warned it will resume if Seoul continues to send anti-Pyongyang leaflets, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
North Korean Vice Defense Minister Kim Kang-il stated Pyongyang said the balloon campaign was a response to South Korean activists sending anti-communist leaflets into North Korea. He clarified that the country had launched 3,500 balloons, carrying 15 tons of debris, between Tuesday night and Sunday morning.
