Nasdaq closes with 3% boost led by Nvidia rally

Major stock indexes in the United States wrapped up trading session on Thursday higher, with the Nasdaq 100 leading the gains after Nvidia Corporation's upbeat earnings sparked the market rally.

In other corporate news, Moderna Inc.'s closing quarter profit surpassed market estimates, pushing the company's stock to its highest point since January, while social media company Reddit Inc. filed for an initial public offering (IPO).

The Dow Jones soared 1.18% with Salesforce Inc. jumping 3.56%. The Nasdaq 100 skyrocketed 3.01% and the S&P 500 climbed 2.11% as Nvidia rallied 16.40%. The euro was flat against the greenback, changing hands to 1.08217 at 3:56 pm ET.
