Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (pictured) stated on Saturday that the United States Security Council (UNSC) resolution which condemns Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory is "biased and shameful," the AFP reported.
On Friday, the UNSC adopted the resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements in the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem after 14 member states voted in favor and the United States abstained from voting. The document demands “Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.”
Currently over 600,000 Israelis live in the territories that Palestinians see as a part of their future country.
Shortly after the vote, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump criticized the Obama administration for refusing to veto the resolution.
