North Korea informed Japan of its plans to launch a satellite between May 31 and June 11, the archipelago country's media such as Kyodo News and NHK reported.
However, according to Kyodo News, the Japanese government allegedly believes the event will be an excuse for North Korea to launch a new ballistic missile test. Meanwhile, NHK reported that North Korea informed the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of its plans to release a satellite.
