One killed, 19 injured in St. Petersburg cafe explosion

At least one person was killed and 19 injured in an explosion at a cafe in St. Petersburg, according to a statement from the press service of Russia's Investigative Committee.

The blast occurred on Sunday on the Universitetskaya embankment and claimed the life of military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, the TASS news agency reported.

Initial information suggests that the explosive device was brought into the cafe by one of the visitors as a gift to Tatarsky.
