Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia Laura Cooper said that Ukrainian forces will start training on the Patriot missile system in January and that the training is expected to take several months.
The Biden administration presented on Thursday its largest support package for Ukraine to date, worth around $3.8 billion. "These capabilities will complement and work with the expanded US-led training beginning this month that will build Ukraine’s capacity to conduct joint maneuver and combined operations," Cooper stated. "We will ensure Ukraine has both the equipment and the skilled force necessary to sustain its efforts to push back on Russian aggression."
