Pompeo: Iran to face more isolation, sanctions

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Iran’s decision to scale back on its commitments under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal will only lead to more isolation and sanctions.

"Iran’s latest expansion of its nuclear program will lead to further isolation and sanctions. Nations should restore the longstanding standard of no enrichment for Iran’s nuclear program. Iran’s regime, armed with nuclear weapons, would pose an even greater danger to the world," he tweeted on Sunday.

Tehran announced its second breach of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) earlier in the day, diminishing hopes of saving the landmark deal despite stern warnings from US President Donald Trump.
