North Korea slammed the United Nations Security Council for holding a closed-door meeting on its test of a solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) armed with a hypersonic warhead.
"The US Security Council, at the brigandish demand of the US and its vassal states, convened a closed-door negotiation to discuss the hypersonic missile test-fire, which was conducted as a part of the DPRK's [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] regular efforts for bolstering up its defense capability," the North Korean Foreign Ministry stated as voted by state news agency KCNA and insisted the launch was a "part of regular and legitimate activities of sovereign state."
On Thursday, UNSC members met to discuss Pyongyang's recent missile tests and comments made by Kim Jong-un that led to rising tensions in the region.
