Iranian President Hassan Rouhani claimed on Friday that the United States offered him to remove all sanctions imposed on his country in exchange for talks.
Rouhani stated that leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom insisted that the two sides should engage in talks. For this to happen, he continued, the US said it would "lift all sanctions."
Iran's president spoke at the United Nations General Assembly earlier this week and rejected negotiations with Washington as long as his country is subjected to pressure. It was speculated that he may meet with US President Donald Trump at the UN, however, that did not occur.
