The United States warned the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that Russia may have tampered with the site of the suspected chemical weapons attack in Douma, AFP reported on Monday.
Meanwhile, Director-General of the OPCW Ahmet Uzumcu stated that Russia and Syria are still delaying their inspectors' access to the site in Douma, citing "pending security issues." He added he hopes the chemical watchdog's team would be allowed access to Douma "as soon as possible," according to the British ambassador to the OPCW Peter Wilson.
Earlier, Russian ambassador to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin, stated that Russia has "irrefutable" evidence that the United Kingdom staged the attack in Douma along with support from the US. "Things unfolded according to the pre-written scenario prepared by Washington. There’s no doubt, the Americans play ‘first fiddle’ in all of this," he claimed.
