The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that Moscow imposed personal sanctions against United States President Joe Biden and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
"This step, taken as a counter-reaction, was the inevitable consequence of the extremely Russophobic course taken by the current US Administration, which, in a desperate attempt to maintain American hegemony, has tried, discarding all decency, the frontal containment of Russia," the ministry wrote in a statement.
The list of sanctioned American politicians and other figures includes US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, US Army General and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, CIA Director William Burns, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, US Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power, Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, politician Hillary Clinton, US Treasury Department's Deputy Secretary Adewale Adeyemo as well as Reta Jo Lewis, the president and chair of the Export-Import Bank of the US.
